It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology (JMST), which is an official monthly English transaction of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers. The current journal name was adopted in 2005. The first issue of the journal appeared in 1987, two times a year until 1992 under the name of KSME Journal. Then, it was published quarterly from 1993 to 1996, and bimonthly from 1997 to 1998, and monthly since 1999. From 1997 to 2004, the journal name was KSME International Journal (ISSN 1226-4865). In 1994, the journal was indexed as Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and also in SCOPUS, CC/EC&T, Compendex, etc.

The JMST is one of the Asia’s leading scientific journals in the field of mechanical engineering, with a characteristic blend of theoretical and applied papers of archival, lasting value, reporting cutting edge research results, by authors across the world.

Prospective authors can submit directly to the subject editors as described in the information for authors. Submitted articles may be survey papers (extensive reviews of established or emerging research topics or application areas) or papers (detailed discussion involving new research, applications or development). The journal also publishes special issues on subjects of increasing importance.

To become a premier journal, however, we warmly welcome your active participation and contribution, not only by submitting your precious works, but also by making constructive suggestions for improving the journal.
